How Cigar Price Watch handles website data.

Information generated when you use the site

Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages and diagnostic logs. We use this information to operate, secure, debug and improve the site.

If you voluntarily submit information through a contact or feedback form, we may process the information you provide, such as your email address and message, in order to respond or investigate a data issue.

Email price alerts

You can create a cigar price alert without creating a user account. For this feature we store only the email address needed to deliver the alert, the cigar being watched, the alert condition you selected, technical verification state and timestamps needed to prevent duplicate or excessive notifications.

We do not require a name, profile, password, shipping address, phone number or other account information for price alerts. Alerts use email confirmation before activation. Verification tokens are stored only as cryptographic hashes, and alert management links use signed server tokens rather than stored raw management tokens.

Each alert email includes a link that can deactivate that alert. We use the email address only to operate the alert you requested and related transactional messages, not to create a general marketing profile.

Analytics and Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is configured as an optional service. Analytics, advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization are denied by default, and the Google Tag Manager container is not loaded until you choose Accept in the site's privacy interface.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

Google AdSense is configured only for educational pages in the Learn section. The AdSense script is not loaded until you choose Accept. When enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies according to your consent choices and Google's own policies.

Cigar price comparison, deal and retailer-facing pages are not intentionally used as AdSense inventory. This separation reflects the different advertising treatment that can apply to tobacco-related commercial content.

Your consent choice

Your current choice is stored locally in your browser so the site can remember whether optional Google tags should load. You can reopen the consent interface at any time using the Privacy choices control in the site footer and change your selection.

Retailer links and third-party websites

Cigar Price Watch links to independent retailer websites. When you follow an outbound link, the retailer receives information associated with that visit and its own privacy policy applies. We do not control the retailer's checkout, age verification, cookies, fulfillment or payment processing.

Affiliate measurement

Some retailer links may contain affiliate or referral parameters. These parameters can allow a retailer or affiliate network to attribute a visit or qualifying transaction to Cigar Price Watch. We may receive aggregate reporting about clicks or commissions.

Cookies and browser controls

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from browsing public cigar price data.

US privacy choices

Depending on where you live, state privacy law may provide rights relating to access, correction, deletion or certain uses of personal information. We do not sell tobacco products and do not require an account to browse public price data. Children and age-limited subject matter

This website is intended for adults age 21 and older. We do not knowingly design the service for children or knowingly request personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site's analytics, advertising, data providers or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
